Key Responsibilities & Daily Duties
As a Multi-Drop Driver, your day will be varied and active. You are the final, crucial link in the logistics chain, directly impacting customer satisfaction.
- Safe Vehicle Operation & Delivery Execution: Drive a company-provided or agency-managed vehicle (up to 3.5T) safely, adhering to all traffic laws. Plan and execute an efficient daily route to complete 50-120 drops, ensuring all parcels are delivered within specified time windows.
- Load Security & Inventory Management: Conduct pre-start vehicle checks (tyres, oil, lights). Safely load and secure goods to prevent damage in transit. Use handheld terminal (PDA) devices to scan items, obtain electronic proofs of delivery (POD), and manage any returns or failed deliveries accurately.
- Customer Service & Problem Solving: Act as the face of the company to customers. Handle deliveries professionally, answer basic queries, and manage customer expectations courteously. Proactively resolve issues like access problems, incorrect addresses, or recipient unavailability, following company protocols.
- Compliance & Administration: Maintain accurate driver hours and tachograph records (if applicable). Complete all necessary delivery paperwork and vehicle defect reports. Ensure full compliance with driver licensing, Warehouse loading rules, and health & safety regulations at all times.
- Vehicle Care & Communication: Keep the vehicle clean and report any mechanical issues immediately. Maintain regular radio/phone contact with the depot or transport office to update on progress, delays, or any urgent issues that arise during the shift.
Essential Requirements & Skills
To be successful in this fast-paced Multi-Drop Driver role, you will need a combination of practical skills, the right attitude, and necessary certifications.

- Proof of right to work in the UK.

- Proven experience as a Multi-Drop Driver, van driver, or courier.
