Our clients in the BN21 postcode are diverse. We currently place Quality Control Inspectors in food and beverage manufacturing units, small-batch pharmaceutical suppliers, precision engineering firms producing components for the aerospace sector, and packaging companies. There is also consistent demand from electronics assembly lines and logistics hubs where final product checks are essential before dispatch. The skills are often transferable between these sectors with minimal client-specific training.
In almost all cases, no. Our client companies provide all necessary calibrated measuring and test equipment (MTE) specific to their products. You are expected to know how to use them competently. However, having your own basic set of digital callipers or a micrometre can be advantageous for certain precision roles and demonstrates professionalism. We can advise on this during your registration. Your primary tools are your experience, attention to detail, and understanding of quality standards.
Shift patterns vary by client. Common patterns include: Early shifts (6am-2pm), Late shifts (2pm-10pm), and Double Day shifts (alternating earlies and lates). Some larger production facilities operate 24/7, offering permanent night shifts (10pm-6am) which often carry a higher premium pay rate. We discuss your availability and preferences during screening to match you with suitable assignments. For a deeper look at shift life, our resource on temp work covers this in detail.
