Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging, age-appropriate activities that align with the EYFS framework to promote all areas of child development (personal, social, emotional, physical, communication).
- Provide high-quality care that meets the individual needs of all children, including feeding, nappy changing, and supporting toileting, always maintaining impeccable hygiene standards.
- Observe, assess, and accurately record children's progress and development, sharing key information with parents and senior staff during handovers and in learning journals.
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment where every child feels secure, valued, and supported to build confidence and independence.
- Work collaboratively as part of a dedicated nursery team, contributing to planning meetings, nursery events, and maintaining the overall cleanliness and organisation of the room and resources.

- Adhere strictly to all safeguarding and child protection policies, procedures, and legislation, acting as a key person for a small group of children.

- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children, colleagues, and parents.
- A patient, nurturing, and proactive attitude with a genuine passion for early childhood education and care.
- Paediatric First Aid certification is highly desirable, though training can be arranged for the right candidate.

Temporary roles are fixed-term contracts, ideal for covering maternity leave, sickness, or seasonal peaks. Temp-to-perm (or 'temp-to-permanent') roles begin as temporary assignments with a clear view from the employer to offer a permanent contract after a successful trial period, typically 8-12 weeks. It's a fantastic way for both you and the nursery to ensure it's the right long-term fit. Many of our candidates secure permanent positions this way.
Yes, absolutely. Flexibility is one of the key benefits of agency work. We have roles ranging from full-time (40 hours) to part-time, term-time only, morning shifts (8 am - 1 pm), and afternoon shifts. During our initial call, we'll discuss your ideal availability and match you with nurseries whose needs align. This flexibility is a cornerstone of modern staffing, a topic we explore in depth in our resource Temporary Staffing Solutions Guide For Modern Businesses.
